If troubleshooting a communication issue, reconnect the data cable (not applicable to WiFi, Bluetooth or Infrared). Unplug the printer's power cord for approximately 10 minutes, and then plug it back in.Disconnect the data cable from the printer (not applicable to WiFi, Bluetooth or Infrared).Turn the printer off with the Power button (if available).I don't have a definitive answer for you and the following are only guesses.
Now select (click on) "Device Disconnect" and you should see "Windows Hardware Remove.wav" click the "Play" button to listen.After you select "Device Connect" you should see "Windows Hardware Insert.wav" under Sounds click the "Play" button to listen to the sound effect.In the "Program Events" window, scroll down until you see "Device Connect" and click on that to select it.
